Li is a painter and mixed media sculptor. Raised in rural Upstate New York, she lives and works, currently, in Corning, NY. She received her B.F.A. in New York City from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2019.

Her body of work encompasses the elusive nature of one’s sense of placelessness as a queer Person of Color in monochronic communities, like a heavy bindle slung over a Sisyphean shoulder, pressing forward. However, within this context of cultural estrangement, community is still built and remembered— one evolving to champion, nurture, and challenge bonds in friendship and in family. She means not just to examine the difficulties and erasure faced by outsiders searching for identity in a polarized America, but rather the joy and subtle power found within the spaces created.
